The table illustrates the participation of secondary school children in four types of schools including specialists, voluntary controlled, and community schools in 2000,2005 and 2009. Units are measured in percentage.

Overall, except for the community school, the other three types of school attendance was diminished considerably over the given years. The major decline in voluntary controlled schools from 52% in 2000 to 12% by 2009.

In the beginning, the presents of pupils in community schools was a mere 12% which increased to 32% by 2005 and doubled to 58% at the end of the period.

Regarding specialists and grammar schools, the attendance of pupils was about 12% and 24% in 2005 which reduced to 10% and 12% by 2009 respectively. The significant reduction in specialist school compared to grammar school over the given period.
