The 21st century has witnessed plentiful new breakthroughs in computer technology. By the same token, online games are becoming more popular with adolescents today. However, some people opine that video games are detrimental and they should be banned. Personally, I totally strike a blow for this notion for 2 reasons.
To commence with, playing online games has bad effects on people's health. Obviously, spending too much time on games can lead to common illnesses such as backache, obesity and so on. Besides, a great contribution to the abnormal mental development as well as the lack of soft skills is also made by wasting time on electronic games. More seriously, some youngsters are so passionate about electronic games that they forget to eat, sleep and drink, which results in teenagers' collapsing, dying on the keyboard.
In addition, online game is one of the most vital factors increasing the number of offenders. The root of felonies and robberies in the young is mostly derived from game addiction. For instance, on August 13th, Trinh Van Duy - a high school student living in Hoa Binh murdered his grandmother to get 200,000 VND to spend on his playing games. This incident is one of many pitiful situations, the main cause of which results from the obsession with games.
To sum up, I believe that online games are really bad for youngsters so they are should be prohibited, otherwise, other bad things will happen and people are not capable of controlling them.
