The table provides the information on the proportion of senior citizens in Canada, Germany and Britain in 1988 and 2000 and estimated figures of the year 2030
From a general perspective, the highest percentage of elderly density was in Germany, which underwent aging population while the lowest can be seen in United Kingdom over the period given. Another noticeable point is that the population of the elderly are expected to surge nearly the same amount in 2030.
From 1988 to 2000, although started at different satistics in 1988, Canada and Germany witnessed the similar growth. In particular, these countries rose shaply, jumping from 16,32% and 20,45% to 20,67% and 25,32% in the next 12 years. Meanwhile, elderly population in the UK prevailed from 1988 to 2000, hovered around 14,23% and 14,89%.
By 2030, the contribution of people aged 65 and above to these countries’ population are predicted to increase by 5.5 percent. With the rising percentage, the figures of Germany reached the highest record of roungly one-third. On the other hand, it is forecasted that the lowest proportion will be observed in UK, with more than one-fifth.
