The table below shows expenditures of four companies on advertising in the UK in 2002
The table compares investments in 5 advertisement channels in the UK of four automobile companies in 2002.
The common patterns for all companies feature TV receiving the largest amount of money and cinema the least. Interestingly, all four spent the same amount on radio advertising.
Cetirizine spent the most on TV (70 million dollars), which was multifold investments in Radio (15 million) and press (12 million). Spending on outdoor advertising cost a mere 3 million whereas cinema was not part of this company’s advertising scheme. A similar ranking is identified in the expenditure of Vauxhall, with promotion through TV costing a whooping 65 million dollars. Investment on radio stood at 15 million dollars, equal to the combined amounts spent on press and outdoor and three times that on cinema.
Promotion budgets of Rover and Renault were allocated slightly differently. TV was still the most prominent medium, costing Rover 45 million and Renault 59 million. However, both companies spent sizeable amounts on press (38 million for Rover and 45 million for Renault). Figures for radio followed at 15 million for both while outdoor advertisement cost more than cinema did: 7 million to 6 million for Renault and 2 million to 0 for Rover.
