The majority of poverty in Australia, unfortunately, is related to sole parents and after that single families with no children would dedicate the second position for themselves in terms of poverty. The couples with children have the third rank. However, by short glimpse to table, it is obvious that, the number of parents with children is more than another kind of households in society, and it is because of population of these families on society of Australia, And The number of single family with no children is more than the number of sole parents as well, but the proportion because of the population of each group is different.
The couple with no children and single aged persons have the fourth and fifth position in term of proportion of poverty and also in terms of population. As the table would illustrate, the last position and ranking is related to aged coupled.
As the table illustrates, the proportion of poverty, in different types of families has different amounts. However, the total poverty proportion is about 11 percent and the total number of poor households is 1837000.
