The table data represents the information of the woodland increased and decreased in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, and South America in three different periods. Overall, the forest area slightly deforested in three parts except for Europe and Asia.
Now turning to the details, in 1990, Europe and South America had the largest forest area compared to other regions at 989 million hectares and at 946 million hectares respectively while Oceania had only at 199 million hectares. After 1990, there was a decrease in recorded forest areas in five parts of the world whilst Europe had an increase of 998 million hectares. In 2000, there was a significant sump in natural or planted trees area in Africa and South America from 749 to 709 million hectares and 946 to 904 million hectares.
It is clearly seen that the area of woodland remained the same in South America in 2005 at 705 million hectares whilst in Europe and Asia kept rising and reached at 1001 and 584 million hectares. On the other hand, the rest of the parts stayed degrading their forest land.
