Dear Mr. White,
I am writing to ask for 15 days off work due to personal issues involving my father’s health, who lives overseas and need my support at this period of his life.
Firstly, I would like to say that I do not expect a paid time off. I am aware of the company’s policy and I will try my best to be back no further than the time required, once I expect to be here for the fusion process.
Although I have never been absent of the company and I am sure of my commitment fulfilling my duties, I must say that my mind is abroad, in my hometown with my father. He was very sick and will go through a surgery in the next week to remove part of his liver.
In order to keep the work that has been done, my colleague Jane has agreed to take my agenda and attend to all the meetings scheduled for the next two weeks. Besides, I am bringing my laptop with me, likewise my mobile phone will always be on if someone needs my help.
It would be much appreciated if you could accept my request.
