The chart shows the percentage of graduate unemployment by gender in a European country from 2008 to 2009 by quarter.

Firstly, generally speaking, unemployment dramatically increased among both gender in 2 years. In Jan’ 08, males without job were at 10 percent, whereas the females show about 7 percent. After a year in that period of year, both unemployment in both sexes marginally increased by about 2 percent. In terms of second and third quarters of 2008, both gender had the same unemployment rate. On contrast, unemployed males increased after a year (April’ 09 and July’ 09), while females percentage remained stable at 2 percent in the second quarter of 2009. However, in July’ 09, unemployed females was 10 percent, it was almost 5 times more than in that time in 2008.

Finally, last quarter of both years saw a considerable increase in unemployment rate. While unemployed male were just over 15 percent, females were more than 10 percent. And in October’ 09, this proportion reached a peak; while unemployed females were under 15 percent, males that be out of work soared faster with more than 20 percent.

Overall, employment of women graduates was realtively stable than men graduates throughout the whole two – year period.
