The bar graph shows the global sales (in billions of dollars) of different types of digital games between 2000 and 2006.
Write a report for a university, lecturer describing the information shown below.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.
The provided bar graph illustrates the worldwide sales of virtual games from 2000 to 2006, which could be played on four categories of devices including mobile phones, the internet, on console and with handheld gadets. The data on the sales was suppplied in billions of dollars.
Overall, the sale of console games had dropped since 2000 as opposed to handheld games which had increased throughout the years. Online games and mobile games were introduced in 2001 and 2002 respectively. Although the sale of internet games was lower than that of mobile games till 2005, the online games were reported to be sold more in 2006 when compared to mobile games.
Nearly 12 billions dollars were earned by the companies by selling handheld games in 2000 which gradually climbed up to be about 18 billions dollars in 2006. Even though the global sell of console games cost around 6 billions dollars in 2000, the sale of this type of games had gone down in 2006.
Despite being the newest to the gaming industry, the sale of cellphone games raised quickly to 6 billions dollars in 2005 which was closely followed by the sale of the online games. However, in 2006, the sale of online games was higher than 6 billions dollars and the same of mobile games which was still around the said amount.
