The pictures depict the layout of the current and future Norbiton Industrial Area.
In general, the town will undergo a dramatic transformation in the future, except the roundabout’s location at the centre of the town. In addition, a wide range of resident facilities will be built in the centre of the town.
Currently, the town is surrounded by a road on the south and a river on the north, which separates it from the farmland. The entrance to the town is from the road on the southern end. From there, it leads to a roundabout, which when turned to the right side, takes you out of the town to a factory. Factories are located around the roundabout and its exit from the town.
In the future plan, the entrance will be turned into a small roundabout, which will make the means of transport more versatile. A road will be built to link the new roundabout to the old roundabout, which will be surrounded by a new medical centre, new shops, and three exits. The first exit from the old roundabout on the right side will stay unchanged; however, it will lead to a school and three ranges of housing and a playground will be constructed on both sides of it. The new exit will be located on the northern-west, which will go to a new housing area, and a new housing area will be built on the right side of it. The new second exit will be located straight from the entrance to the south. And on the left side of this exit, a new housing area will be constructed. This exit will link the town to the old farmland location, where there will be a new road and a new housing area by a road over the river. The old one will be moved to the east of the river.
