The graph give information about average carbon dioxide emitted per person in four different countries from 1967 to 2007. Units are measured in metric tonnes.
Overall, Sweden and United Kingdom saw a decreasing trend. Whereas, Portugal and Italy rose significantly thoughout the period.
From the graph, it is obvious that United Kingdom was the most carbon dioxide emitted country which stood about 11 metric tonnes in 1967. However, the number decreased steadily to about 9 metric tonnes during the 40 years. Turning to Sweden's emissions of carbon dioxide, just under 9 metric tonnes were released before reaching a peak in next decades, which was nearly 11 metric tonnes. Though, the trend decreased significantly to just under 6 metric tonnes.
In contrast, Italy emitted just over 4 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide in 1967 and Portugal was the least carbon dioxide emitted, accounting for 1.5 metric tonnes in the corresponding year. Nevertheless, both of these countries saw a dramatical growth to 7.5 and 5.5 metric tonnes respectively until 2007. Taking into consideration, Portugal and Sweden had a same amount of emissions (5.5) in 2007.
