Last month you had a holiday overseas where you stayed with some friends. They have just sent you some photos of your holiday.
Write a letter to your friends. In your letter:
thank them for the photos and for the holiday
explain why you didn’t write earlier
invite them to come and stay with you
dear Alicia and Pinto
Thank you so much for the photos of our wonderful time together. I have framed the one where we are at the zoo and kept it on my bedside table. It brings back such great memories of the holiday we had together.
When I opened your letter, I felt guilty for not writing back to you earlier. However, when you will hear my excuse, you willl forgive me. After I came back from your place, there were torrential raind and flooding in our area. You must have seen the pictures in the news or read about it online. It was horiffying! there was water everywhere and I lost alot of my belongings, either the furniture was submerged or it was damaged beyond repair. I am waiting for the situation to get better like everyone else.
With most of my belongings, I lost my contact book and it had your number, I waited to speak to Carlos to get your address. Hopefully, once the weather clears up, we will have good summer. Anyway, I would love to have you here for the summer, we can visit a little quaint town and go for sight seeing. I desperately hope you dont think i am rude or ungreatful.
Please let me know when you are free. Looking for ward to seeing you soon.
Lots of love
Emma
