I am writing this email to inform you regarding an issue with my starting date of work. Despite our agreement to start my work on Monday of the next week, I have been forbidden from being in public because of a health problem.
Let me explain my situation in more detail. Two days ago, I visited my family doctor after almost one day of feeling awfully sick and having body pain. I was diagnosed as having flu which is recently picking up in the country. He prescribed me some medicine and asked me seriously to stay home until getting better.
Hopefully, I could be there on Monday of the week after next week as the doctor anticipated. He said the average treatment period for this disease is in the range of 7-10 days. I also have an appointment to visit the doctor the next Friday. I'll let you know if anything new comes up.
