You are a member of an organization which meets regularly in a restaurant. The most recent meal you had was not satisfactory and you were very disappointed with the quality of food and the behaviour of the staff. Write a letter to the manager of the restaurant. In your letter :
• Give details of reason for coming to the restaurant
• Explain what was wrong with the meal and the service
• Suggest what he/she could do to make you/your group return to the restaurant
Dear Mr John,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. I am writing to express my concerns about the recent meal I had at your restaurant.
To begin with, I am a member of the community’s environmental club and we regularly hold our month-end meetings at your restaurant. We were drawn to your restaurant after we tasted your chicken burger at our first meeting in June and it was delicious. Ever since we have continued to patronize your meals and outstanding services.
However, last week Tuesday, we had our first experience of awful staff behaviour and a low-quality meal. It was spaghetti pasta and it was too spicy. To make matter worse, we were served without drinks or water and when we called the waiter’s attention, she spent about 20 minutes getting some without any apologies for the delay. To be honest with you, it was a horrible experience and my team was disappointed. They complained bitterly that they decided to switch restaurants for our next meeting so as not relive the experience.
On the flip side, I begged the team on the behalf of the restaurant to reconsider their decision since it was our first experience. They agreed it had never happened before and requested that I write to inform you of the experience. Nonetheless, I would advise that you write to the team, assuring them that it would never happen again as it is against the culture and ethics of your restaurant. This would help restore the relationship we have with your restaurant.
Seeking your reply.
Best wishes,
Lilian.
