You live in a rented accommodation which was recently damaged due to the bad weather.
Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter:
- explain what caused the damage
- why do you need them to fix the problem right away?
- what needs to be done to fix it?
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to inform you that the bad weather condition had been detrimental to the house where I am staying as a tenant for the last one year.
last night; the heavy rains and fierce storms has broken many windows of my house. Moreover, the broken tree branches have not only wrecked the main entrance door of the house completely, but also have damaged the furniture, walls and flooring by entering through the shattered windows.
The freezing winds and rains are entering through the smashed windows thus making it unbearable to stay. Furthermore, the main front door is jammed, the furniture is broken and the plaster of the walls is falling off because of the broken branches, as a result, it is impossible to open the door and move out of the house.
I would request you to kindly arrange a carpenter for repairing the damages caused to windows, furniture and the main door of the house, Additionally, please send the painter also to repair the damaged walls.
I hope you will understand the seriousness of the situation and will take immediate actions. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
Prabhpreet Kaur
