You recently read an article in newspaper about someone you know personally. You found some information is wrong. Write a letter to editor to inform him about it. Use following points:
1. What is the article about?
2. What is the error?
3. What you expect an editor to do?
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing with regard to an incorrect fact which has been published in your newspaper edition on 15th October. The article is about Dr Sam Peter’s research on climate change.
Although the content of the article is extremely informative, this one particular fact about Dr Sam’s experience in the field is misleading. As a world-renowned scientist, he has started his research on climate change in the early ’80s. To be precise, he had published his first research paper in August 1981. However, in your article which has been mentioned as August 1991. This probably could be a typo but which impact greatly on his level of experience as well as the credibility of his research paper. In fact, this would also impact the reputation of your newspaper as well.
As a member of his research team, whilst appreciating the effort you put to disseminate scientific information to the mass through your newspaper, I kindly request you to correct the aforementioned fact and published the corrected details in your upcoming edition.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Jack Daniel.
