Dear Anagha,
I received your letter today morning and my heartiest congratulations on achieving the first rank in your engineering college examination. I have also given a lot of thought on your request for advice on whether to enroll in college for higher education or to apply for job. I feel that you should start looking for job.
Let me first explain my reason for thinking why you would not enjoy going to college. I have checked with some of my seniors and elder siblings and found that most of the students pursuing Master degree are already having a minimum three years of experience in job environment. Another information that I found was that most of the curriculum for the master degree are designed for people who have some exposure to job market. I think that without having job experience you would feel left out in most of discussions that your peers will have and would not be able to enjoy your college or understand the course.
Secondly, opting for job would not only help you financially but also will help you gain hands on experience of the field. It is definitely going to help you in future when you go back to your studies. Furthermore, savings from your job can help you in your daily expenses in college or for fees therefore you need not take full loan and can manage by taking partial loan.
Lastly, I have some suggestions on the type of job role that would help you are paid internships in small office. Small offices not only has less workload but also provide lot of exposure to different responsibilities. Another role that would help you is lead role in some small team. This would help you in your leadership skills. I have made a list of companies that are providing these job roles and if you wish then I would send the list to you. Please feel free to let me know if you need any help. I am always there to help you.
Yours Faithfully,
Madhulika
