You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You rent a four-bedroom house, which you share with two other students. However, there are several problems with this house that need fixing. You also find it expensive and would like to find another student to share the spare bedroom.
Write a letter to the estate agency. In the letter
• explain your situation
• describe the problems
• say what you would like to happen
Write at least 150 words. You do not need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows: Dear Sir or Madam.
Dear Sir/Madam
My friends and i are your tenants at 72 Ajrian road, Lekki. We write to inform you of the challenges we have been facing in the house and also use this opportunity to talk about our rent.
Firstly, the roofs are leaking and as a result of constant rainfall the ceilings are spoiling because of the insects eating up the woods. This has also led to the destruction of most of our properties like books and other personal items. In light of the recent security issues around this area we're also worried as there is no front gate, wish means the house is less secure.
Secondly, we will like to ask if it is possible to invite a friend of ours to share the rent and occupy the spare bedroom to enable us share the five hundred thousand rent, since we find it quite high for us to pay. However is important to note that the light has been repaired in light of our previous complain and we hope that this repairs will be made at no extra cost.
we will be glad if the repairs are looked into and also the our request to bring in one additional person to share the spare bedroom.
we look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully
Esther Okoronkwo.
