The given graphs illustrate the average proportion of sodium, saturated fat, and added sugar contained in Americans different meals of a day.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is evident that Americans consume more sugar during day-time meals and snacks. In contrast, the 2 other types of nutrients are consumed more in dinners.
For breakfast, people in the US have a healthy meal with considerably equal proportion of nutrients, with 14% of sodium and sugar, and 16% of saturated fat. The percentage of sodium and fat then witnesses a considerable increase of 15% and 10%, respectively, during the next meal of the day.
In terms of snack, its figure for added sugar is the highest, at 42%. The data for the other nutrients in snack are significantly lower than sugar, at lower than 22%. Dinner has the most proportion of sodium and saturated fat, at 43% and 37%, for each. The percentage of added sugar in dinner is 23%, which is more than 13% lower than the remaining nutrients.
