While some people believe that teachers have a greater effect over children's growth, I consider that both teachers and parents play crucial roles in shaping a child's development.
On the one hand, there are clear arguments that highlight the significant influence of teachers on students. One of the main reasons can be that teachers have knowledge in various subjects, allowing them to provide valuable insights and create a conducive learning environment that promotes critical thinking among students. For this reason, students often look up to their teachers as mentors and role models. Take the case of some students who own their lifelong love of a subject to dedicated teachers who taught this discipline in secondary school. Another possible merit can be that teachers could work with students in contacting different cultures and standpoints. Not only can teachers help students develop understanding, but they can also promote inclusivity within the classroom.
On the other hand, I am of the belief that parents also play an important role in their child's growth. Firstly, I concur that parents provide emotional support and love, which are indispensable for a child's development. The reason for my conviction is that the raising environment created by parents helps build a solid foundation for a child's intellectual and social development that may not always be possible in a classroom setting. Secondly, I would contend that parents have a deep understanding of their child's strengths, weaknesses, and interests, allowing them to tailor their support accordingly. As a result, the combination of teachers' expertise and parents' personalized care leads to better growth.
In conclusion, while some may agree with the idea that teachers hold more influence over school children's intelligence and social development than parents, I totally concur that both teachers and parents play vital roles in shaping a child's growth.
