In the contemporary society, it is undeniable that movies and television have had an influence on people’s daily life. Hence, the spirits conveyed by the movies and television are of essential importance. Some people think they just watch whatever they want to watch no matter whether the value of the movie or television is suitable for them. From my perspective, however, movies and television are supposed to express positive spirits to people.
First and foremost, movies and television should teach people lessons about life. To be more specific, the necessary lesson is mutual honest. It is commonly known that being honest is an essential quality of people. If students make lies to their professors and copy others’ homework and essay, once they are found not honest, their professors may criticize them and even their credits are lessened by a large extent. Hence, movies and television play an important role in conducting people spirits about being honest. For instance, Bad Genius state a story about a genius girl help her friends to pass Scholastic Assessment Test. They succeed the test, however, in the end the heroine voluntarily surrender herself and the whole things come to obvious. This movie teach people to be honest and every crime will meet an end.
In addition, movies and television should communicate the idea of non-discrimination. Nowadays, the society is rife with all types of discrimination---the sexual discrimination, homosexual discrimination, racial discrimination and so on. These discrimination brings harm to the people all over the world with different background. Just think about it that the diverse culture in some countries are in derision by people from other states. The really heart-breaking thing is mutual disdain between people. It is assuredly important for movies and television to express the spirits of non-discrimination. For example, Call Me By Your Name is a movie that talk about the sexual discrimination. It meticulously state the love story between men. After it had been on, it aroused great attention in the society and even some states support for same sex marriage.
Finally, movies and television are supposed to express a strong and positive life attitude to people. That’s to say ‘never give up’ which is of essential importance for people to achieve their dreams. Movies and television are supposed to teaches us that we do get what we want, if we know exactly what we want and want the right thing. We must make sure that our clearly defined goals are achievable. A superficial claim like ‘ I wanna be a millionaire’ brings nothing. But if the movies and television express the ideas like that by carefully planning and relevant persistence, we have no reason to fail, even if the methods we use are problematic, many still finally attain great achievement. Such kind of spirits bring people energy and positive attitude about life.
Overall, these are my opinions about what movies and television should express.
