First, the reading states that Rembrant always pay attention to details in his subject and would not be guilty of such inconsistency. The Professor opposese this by explaining that the xtray analysics makes it knownn that such inconsistency was not part of the initial painting, explaining further that this might have been added later to beautify the painting.
Second, the reading claims that he was a master of painting light and shadow and there is no way he would have made such an error. However, the Professor refutes this by saying the original light and shadow are realistic and it reveals the woman in the painting is wearing a single light colour and this makes the Professor to states that the painting truly belongs to Rembrant.
Third, the reading posit that Rembrant often painted on wood panels, there is no painting known of him to be of panel glued together. In constrst, the Professor states that the original painting was painted on a single wood just like Rembrant would paint it. The professor explains further that a piece of wood might have been added later just to be it more beatiful after the the original painting by Rembrant.
