company economies
The reading context states that a four day workweek would be benificial for the economoy of the individual companies as well as the employees who are palatable with this decision & for butreesing the policy they gave three supports. Later on in the lecture the professor carefully scrutinized each point & refutes each points logics by discreeting the gap of the logics.
At the first instance, While the reading context states that the policy will increase company profit because they will be rested and alert in the shortend weekend, the professor thought it will not be specifically true. Because it will force the company to spend more as adding more employee mens it will be required more office space .Additionaly , the health insurances & other office stuffs doesn't have a conncetion that whether it is a four day week , it will be the same as like the five days week.
Secodly , The context cites that the policy will curtailed the unemployed rate. However, The professor thought it will not be work be because many more job are also avialable while the unemployed rate is still the same. Moreover, By applying the policy the comapny expectation will be increased , they may want the smae result as like the five days workweek time. So it may be happened that the current employees are doing overtime for making the expectation.
Finally ,The passage claims that it will be better for the individual company.Nevertheless, The professor said it will just increase the risk & reduce the quality of life. Furthermore , he mentioned that it will also reduce the job stability & economic downturn can be happened because of applying these kind of policy.
In recapitualtion , It can considered that the reading context is quite unpersuasive as the the professor refutes the whole logic of the the context.
