TPO 48 - Integrated Writing Task

The lecture and reading are both about the problem of the decline in the frog population and the solutions of it. Whereas the author states that the problem was caused by pesticides, fungus, and the pollution in their habitats. However, the speaker casts doubt on the solutions made in the reading.
First of all, the reading passage asserts that banning farmers for using pesticides are a good way to prevent the chemical substances from killing the frogs. In contrast, the lecturer undermines this statement by providing that this is not economically practical since it would be unfair for farmers whose crops are nearby the frog habitation. To be more specific, forbidding the use of the pesticides unbalance the fairness between cultivators, some of them will be less competitive than others.
Secondly, the writer mentions that fungus are also causing the decline of the amount of frog, medical cares can help to prevent fungus from killing frog. Nevertheless, the speaker refutes this argument. She provides that treatments would have to be delivered individually. Moreover, those medication treatment cannot prevent their off-springs to get infected by fungus.
Last but not least, the author in the reading states that habitats are polluted by human activity, mostly by the water used by human. On the other hand, the lecturer counter argues rather than water pollution, climatic change provides a getter influence on making the habitat inhabitable.
All in all, the three solution of the frog population claimed by the writer are effectively challenge by the lecturer.
