The reading passage introduces three solutions in order to prevent injuries to birds. On the other hand, the speaker claims that these solutions are not practical due to the following reasons.
First, even though the reading passage states that using the one-way glass helps birds to understand that the glass is a barrier and they do not go through it, the speaker points out that as far as the one-way glass reflects like mirror it is not practical to avoid birds hitting all the times since it may reflect the sky or tree and the birds cannot realize they are not real sky and tree and fly through it.
Second, despite the statements in the reading passage that colorful designs such as colorful painted patterns or lines on glass helps the birds to distinguish between glass and open air, the lecturer claims that in order to achieve such an aforementioned goal, the no painted holes in the gloss should be too small otherwise the birds cannot detect it as barrier, and in this way the room for the people become too dark and it is not appropriate.
Finally, the reading passage argues that by sending electromagnets signals, we can change the direction of the birds to a suitable one as far as they have organs which can detect magnetic field. Conversely, the speaker brings up with the idea that the birds only use their magnetic compass in their long travelling and distances, for example from cold climate to the warm climate. But in the city they use other organs and means such as their eyes and brightness of light to find their way. Hence, this idea is ruled out.
