A glance at the figure reveals the fish and meat consumption of a European nation over the course of 25 years starting from 1979.
Overall, most of the figure dropped noticeably throughout the period surveyed. Yet, chicken was the only one which witnesses an upward trend.
It can be seen from the graph that in 1979, beef was most consumed meat, the consumption of fish, meanwhile, stood at the lowest point at significantly over 50 grams. It is interesting to note that the figures for chicken and lamb were nearly the same to each other. The former was roughly 148, while the latter was just over 150 grams. In the period of 1979 and 1994, the lamb and fish figures saw a gradual decline. Similarly, the consumption of beef reached a peak in 1983 before it markedly went down. In stark contrast, the data of chicken skyrocketed to roughly 240 grams.
At the end of this period, the three categories of beef, lamb and fish continued to drop steadily, a decline of 50, 20 and 5 grams respectively. The figure for chicken, by contrast, sharply climbed to the highest point, at slightly over 250 grams.
