The given bar graph gives information about the proportion of families rent or own houses in united kingdom and wales countries between the years 1918 and 2011.
In general, it can be seen that, the per cent of families which owned homes increased gradually between 1918 and 1991 then markedly declined at the end of given period (2011). Another inmportant trend in the data is that, the percentage of families which rented houses fluctated during the given period.
To begin with, it can be witnessed, the proportion of households owned homes stood on around 22% in 1918. It grew up significantly to approximately 33 percent in 1953. After that, the percentage of families owned accommodation rose suddenly to around 68%, and 69% in 1991, and 2001 respectively. Then the percentage dropped slightly to approximately 64%.
Moving on households which rented accommodation, it can be noticed, the proportion of these families was around 77% in 1918. In 1953, the per cent grew down by approximately 9% (from 77% to 68%). In addition, the percentage of rented families fell down sharply to 31% in 2001. At the end of given period(2011) went up to around 35%.
