The bar chart compares the average cost of a house in five cities over a period of thirteen years from 1989.
It is evident, in general, that house prices fell between 1990 and 1995, but four over five cities, except for Frankfurt, saw raising prices between 1996 and 2002. Besides, London experienced the enormous change in house prices over the thirteen-year period.
To specify, over the first five years after 1989, the average cost homes in Tokyo and London dropped significantly by around 7%, while New York house prices went down by 5%. By contrast, Frankfurt encountered the highest change of approximately 2%.
In the second period, from 1996 to 2002, the most substantial change was observed in London which accounted for more than 10% hike in price. Similarly, people in New York had to pay noticeably more, with the prices rising to 5% above the 1989 average. On the other hand, the cost in Frankfurt in this period reduced slightly to just 1% over than that in 1989. Strikingly, while the house prices average in Marid in both two periods was higher than that in 1989, with 4% in 1996-2002 compared to 2% in 1990-1995, there was a decrease by 2% in the average cost for a house in Tokyo between two periods.
