Cinema attendance by age group
TThe line graph compares the percentages of cinema-going in 4 different age groups in Great Britain between 1984 and 2000.
It is clear that the percentage of people in 15-24 age group attended cinema was by far highest during the period research. Additionally, the figures for people attending cinema also experienced significant increases at the same time.
In 1984, around 18% of people in 15-24 age group went to the cinema, which was highest. While the percentage of people aged 7-14 made up 10%, compared to nearly 5% of cinema attendees who were 25-35. Meanwhile, the proportion of people in 25 and over age group attended cinema was lowest, at roughly 2%.
In 2000, there was a dramatic increase in 15-24 age group of cinema-goers to approximately 55% and remained the highest point, while the figure for people aged 25-35 rose gradually to around 15%. At the same time, the proportions for the remaining groups also rose significantly to 30%, which were at the same level.
