The bar chart below shows the top ten countries for the production and consumption of electricity in 2014.
The bar chart compares how much electricity the top ten countries was produced and consumed in 2014. Overall, the production of electricity in all countries except Germany was slightly bigger than the consumption; China stood at the first place the chart in the production and consumption of electricity.
Starting with China, United States and Russia, the production and consumption of electricity were all larger than 1000 billion kWh. China produced and consumed the highest amount of electricity, with 5398 and 5322 respectively. It was followed by United States, whose statistics were 4099 and 3868, almost four times as big as Russia's(1057 and 1038). On the whole, the production and consumption of electricity in China and America far exceeded the production and consumption of electricity in Russia.
Turning now to the other seven countries, figures for the electricity production and consumption were smaller than 1000 kWh, about 936 and 856 in Japan, and about 871 and 698 in India. The data for Canada, France, and Brazil was similar at around 550 and 455. As to the data of Korea, Rep., it was the lowest in the ten countries in 2014, only about 485 and 449. It is interesting to note that the consumption of electricity in Germany(around 582) was larger than the production of electricity(about 526). In general, the difference between the production and consumption of electricity in these countries was relatively minor.
