You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
• say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
• explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
• suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her
Dear Samuel,
I am glad that you finally decided to come to New Zealand. Now, about the visa whether you should opt for a job and migrate as immigrant or go to a college and travel as a student. I would suggest the former.
I believe the college will be less appealing to you as you have mastered all the topics that will be covered in the college. Moreover, I think you would qualify as a teacher any day.
However, you would really benefit by applying for a job. As you have 5 years of work experience as software developer, it will be a great liability for any company.
You could apply for a senior post in software development, which are very much in demand in the current job market. Also, you could consider becoming a teacher and share your knowledge and experience.
I am very much interested to know your decision and look forward to seeing you soon.
Your friend
