The pie charts illustrate the differences in a British school’s yearly expenses over a period of 20 years between 1981 and 2001.
Overall, it is clear that the largest amount of money was spent on paying teachers’ salaries while the smallest proportion went to the insurance fee.
In 1981, the school spent 40% of its budget on paying for teachers, it was followed by an increase of 10% in the next 10 years before declining to just 45% of the total in the end. Other workers’ payment contributed the second biggest amount of money spent in the first 10 years, however, the figure dropped to only 15% in the end and was preceded by the money spent on furniture and equipment, at 23%.
Meanwhile, resources accounted for 15% of the spending in 1981, then rose up to 20% in a decade and witnessed a slight decrease of just 9% in 2001. Finally, the expense of insurance was below 10% during the time shown.
