Your neighbour has been making a lot of noise recently. This has been causing you problems, and you want to ask them to stop.
Write a letter to your neighbour. In your letter:
-ask for an explanation for the noise
-explain the problems this has caused for you
-say what will happen if the problem is not solved
Dear neighbor,
I am writing to complain about the noise levels coming from your apartment in recent weeks.
Could you explain what is happening that is producing so much noise? I am really mystified as to what you could be doing. I can hardly have a conversation with someone sitting next to me, because it is so loud.
This situation is having a negative effect on my entire family. I have been unable to sleep properly, because of the noise levels even late at night. My son complains that he cannot focus on his homework, while even our don has been behaving oddly; she lost her appetite, and has no energy.
While I do not understand why this has become such a problem. I must ask you to reduce the amount of noise you make, and try to keep quiet during the evening when we are at home so that my son can do his schoolwork undisturbed. If this situation continues, I will have no choice but to make a noise complaint to the police and/or to the city council.
I trust you will make the necessary changes and that this will be the end of the matter.
Regards,
MJ
