Austria, however, more than doubled its share of dollars during the decade, going from 30 million to a little over 70, after 2 years of stationary expenditure.
Last but not least, Italy's outgo in books purchases had its up and downs: it started at 50 million and grew of 5 million in 1997, but it went back to where it was 2 years later. The next 6 years saw a steady but important increase that led Italy to spend a little over 60 million dollars on books in 2005.
