You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You have been invited to attend an interview for a place studying a course in a college. Unfortunately because of a previous appointment you cannot come at the time they wish.
Write a letter to the admissions tutor and explain your position. Apologise and offer to come on another day or later the same day. Ask also how long the interview will be and whether there will be any tests during it.
You do NOT need to write your own address.
Begin your letter as- Dear Sir or Madam,
Dear Madam,
I am writing this letter to inform you that I can't attend the replacement interview because of my previous appointment. No sooner received I your email, I totally had forgotten my postgraduate test on exact same day. This course is also one of my dream position, but I had not realized since I already had an appointment with a principal meeting.
First of all, I'm so sorry for this inconvenience situation. Secondly, if you don't mind, we will arrange the study interview the other day and one more question is how long it will take the test if you respond 'yes'. Lastly, I have heard from a friend of mine said I didn't take some courses so that it will be any tests during it. If it's okay, please let me know when you are available because I don't want to miss the opportunity as well. As I mentioned through a phone call, I need the experience after I graduate the college and hunt a job.
Needless to say again, it is all my fault caused my habitual notebook. I hope we see you soon and consider my suggestion in a positive way.
Regards,
MJ
