You work for an international company, and would like to spend six months working in its head office in another country.
Write a letter to your manager. In your letter:
Explain why you want to work in the company’s head office for six months
Say how your work could be done while you are away
Ask for his/her help in arranging it
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to ask for your permission to work at the head office in Los Angeles for a period of six months.
The reason why I made this request is because I want to improve my team-leading skills. By working in the headquarter, I could see how experienced seniors bring their teams together and enhance everyone’s cooperation and productivity. this will definitely help me lead my team better in projects, especially the big and important ones.
I have asked mr. johnson if he could temporarily take my position during my leave and he accepted. I am sure he will be able to take care of everything while I am away. Also, I will participate in every online meeting of my team and support mr. johnson via emails. if any urgent problems occurred, I would fly back immediately to directly instruct my team.
I hope you would take my request into consideration and it would be absolutely my pleasure if you could send a reference letter to the managers at the headquarter.
I look forward to receiving your response.
Yours faithfully,
Truong
