Overall, the figure for the female university graduates was higher than that of the male university graduates during the period shown. Also, the numbers of both female and male students graduating increased gradually from 1992 to 1995, then declined slightly between 1996 and 1999, and grew constantly again from 2000 to 2007.
In 1992, around 100,000 female students graduated from universities in Canada, while the figure for male university graduates was 70,000. From 1992 to 1995, the figures of female and male students graduating from universities increased steadily. However, in 1998 the numbers of female and male university graduates hit a low of around 100,000 graduates and 70,000 graduates respectively.
Between 2000 and 2007, the numbers of female and male students graduated from universities in Canada rose significantly. Especially, in 2006 the number of female students graduating in Canada reached a peak of nearly 150,000 graduates.
