As we can see, the line graph illustrates the fluctuations in birth rates in countries like China and the United States between the years of 1920 to 2000.
In general, the USA started at the top, while China was at the bottom in the year 1920. However, China toped the graph in the year 1950, but the results stayed the same with the USA being at the top once again and China remained at the bottom in the year 2000.
From 1920 to 1950, the USA birth rate (11%) was almost 1% higher than China (10%). Both the countries birth rate increased by one percent over the span of five years; however, both the country's birth rate returned to their starting position in the year 1930. In the next five years, China showed a sudden increase of 5% reaching 15% in total; in contrast, the USA birth rate was two percent less than China's birth rate in the year 1935. Moving forward, both the countries birth rate dropped to 5% during the next ten years. In 1945, China and the USA skyrocketed reaching up to 20% and 15% respectively. This was the highest birth rate percentage recorded by China during the whole 80 years span.
During the years 1955 to 1960, China highly focused on controlling its birth rate reaching just under 10%, in the same manner, the USA reached 12% during the same time period. Finally, the birth rate of both countries continued to decrease the same way making 7% for the USA and 2% for China in the year 2000.
