A friend who lives in a different city has invited you to his/her daughter's 8th birthday. However, you can not accept the invitation due to some personal reasons.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter:
• thank him for the invitation
• mention why you can not attend the birthday party
• offer to meet him some other day

Dear Shikha,
Hope that all is well at your end.Thank you for an invite on your daughter's 8th birthday.I wish Sonia a very happy birthday in advance.She was around 5 years old when I saw her last during my visit to Bhopal.I am writing this letter to tell you that I can't accept the invitation due to some reasons.Though,I really wanted to join her birthday party.Because of unavoidable circumstances, can't travel now.
My father had a fracture in his leg last week so his treatment is going on.It requires visiting a clinic on a regular basis,consulting physiotherapist,medicines and other check ups.My mother is good in health thankfully but because of her age and some minor health related issues,she can't help my father completely.I have my office meetings and project deadlines regularly in this entire month so have to work on that also.
I apologise for not attending Sonia's birthday this time.I make sure that once my father gets recovered, will definitely meet for sure.
