The graph illustrates the amount of electricity that was generated and consumed by ten highest-ranking countries in 2014.
Overall, most nations used less electricity than how much they produced, except for Germany. It worth noting that China and United State had the far higher amounts of electricity generated and consumed than others.
In 2014, China ranked first with over 5,000 billion kWh of electricity produced then used. The second largest electricity producer and consumer, the US, generated 4,099 billion kWh and used 3,866 billion kWh.
Looking at the remaining countries, Russia was the only one that had over 1,000 billion kWh of electricity in production and consumption, followed by Japan and India with the figures ranging from 698.8 to 936.2 billion kWh. There were few differences in the amounts of electricity generated and used among other countries which was around 450 billion kWH to 620 billion kWh. While others showed higher figures of electricity production compared to that of consumption, Germany was the only country generated 526.6 billion kWh but used 582.5 billion kWh.
