The chart below shows the results of a survey about people’s coffee and tea buying and drinking habits in five Australian cities.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The chart illustrates the habits of buying and drinking two beverages: coffee and tea for urban residents in five Australian countries in the last four weeks.
Overall, it is clear that people in most cities preferred drinking coffee or tea in a cafe to buying fresh or instant coffee, except in Adelaide where drinking instant coffee was a bit more prevalent.
As can be seen, the percentages of residents consuming coffee and tea in a cafe in Melbourne and Hobart reached their peak, at nearly 65%, followed by that of ones in Sydney, at about 61%. The amount of instant coffee bought by people in Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart was the second position, accounting for about 45.5%, 48%, and 54%, respectively. However, the amount of fresh coffee was the least product consumed by those in these three countries, which made up under 45%.
Meanwhile, the number of people visiting a cafe in Brisbane accounted for approximately 56%, which was higher than one buying instant coffee, at under 55%, whereas the figure for people drinking coffee in a cafe in Adelaide was less than that of people purchasing instant coffee, at 50% and 49%, respectively. Finally, the proportion of residents buying fresh coffee in both cities was under 35% in the last four weeks.
