The maps show the village of Pebbleton 20 years ago and now.
The two given maps illustrate the modernization process of a coastal village named Pebbleton during the past 20 years. Overall, there have been some recently built facilities for the villagers during this period. What is more, some buildings' functions were also changed to suit the needs of the community here.
It is clear that the number of houses along the north coast of the village increased from 4 to 7 buildings, to the left of which is now the new Community Center. In addition, a brand-new tennis court was constructed on the left side of the Lighthouse Lane, leading to the Community House. Last but not least, a footbridge was set up to facilitate the traveling between the playing field and the school.
As can also be seen from the diagrams, many buildings have changed their functions to serve the community better. To begin with, The old fort next to the lighthouse was converted into a playground for children. Moreover, next to the playing field is an apartment block, which was formerly used as a film studio.
