The pie charts illustrates the results of examinations in an African country surveying the main reasons teenagers use their mobile devices between 2016 and 2019. While the other three reasons made up around half of each chart, social networks were dominant in all four years.
Online social platforms held the number one spot throughout the years with 50% in 2016, followed by a insignificant decrease in 2017. The year 2018 witnessed a small rise to 51%. Its percentage had sharply increased by 5% in 2019, from 51% to 56%. Phone calls owned the least proportion of all. Starting with 10% in 2016, it inclined to 13% the next year, which then dropped to 11% in 2018. 2019 saw a huge decline by 6% back to just 5%.
Email took up a quarter in both 2016 and 2017 and one fifth of 2018, then remained nearly the same in 2019. Digital camera first held the 3rd place with 15% in 2016 and 2017. It slightly increased by 3% in 2018, then officially surpassed email to become the 2nd primary purpose for teens.
