Some people believe that studying at university or college is the best route to a successful career, while others believe that it is better to get a job straight after school. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
To some people, the best way to have a successful career is being academic graduate. However, others opine that it’s more beneficial to just start working right after high school. Personally, I think it has more advantages to attend in a university or college. In this essay, I’ll explain the importance of both views and give my opinion.
To commence with, although there are still a lot of difficulties if someone jumps up into workforce after school, but the clearest benefit we can see is that students know the value of money and can save money for themselves instead of spending it. Unless you are offered a full scholarship, going to college will costs a lot money. That means you need to have a strong financial support. But if you have a job, then you can have money to take care for yourself and family. In addition, you can buy things you want and you own your personal economy. Moreover, earning money by ourselves promotes our higher ambitions in the job. A report showed that almost high school-age students get a well-paid job after high school. But it doesn’t ensure you can get along with that job or have enough patience to continue.
On the other hand, I think universities and colleges are the better way to become successful. At college or university, you will have chance to gain real skills in specific fields and the opportunities for job in the future is wider. First, more schools are now encouraging students to join internships or work experience sections to enhance their knowledge, learn soft skills and boost confidence or maybe find your interests. One more point to remember is that students can work part-time jobs while studying, so they can have fund to pay for things and they learn how to manage time properly. All of these elements are a strong background for students, they are almost fully prepared at the university to be ready for the job in future. Second, college and university increase the opportunities for jobs after graduating academy. There are many jobs require college degree, depending on positions you wish, you need to have certain type of degree. A report gave information that the overall unemployment of the USA was 6,7% while this rate was 4.7% for those with a bachelor’s degree. This reminds having a degree gives you a competitive advantage against other applicants.
To sum up, each point of view provides different advantages and everyone chooses any path that they feel is the best for themselves to head to success. In some aspects, they are more likely to be successful in their career if they study at universities or colleges.
