The bar chart compares the number of US households according to five groups of yearly income in three different years.
It is clear that the annual income of families living in the US changed significantly in 2007, 2011, and 2015. While households that had the highest and lowest salaries changed considerably, the number of households having the average income was relatively stable.
In 2007, the number of US families having yearly income less than $25000 stood at 25 millions, over the following 4 four years, this figure increased to around 28 millions before falling slightly to 26 millions. A similar trend was also saw in the group of families with income from $25000 to less than $50000, at 27 millions, 30 millions and 28 millions respectively.
Looking at the group of households that had the highest income ($100000 or more), in 2007 the figure was 29 millions then fell by around 2 millions and eventually increased dramatically to 33 millions in 2015. By contrast, the number of US households earning an annual income from $50000 to under $100000 was relatively stable, fluctuating between 15 and 20 millions throughout the period shown.
