Overall, both figures showed a decrease over the period, in which stores that opened witnessed a significant decline.
Regarding the closure situation of the stores in the country, starting at over 6000 stores that closed in 2011, it experienced a slight fluctuation before strongly collapsed in 2015, which was about nearly 500 store closures. Then, in 2016, this figure rebounded and surpassed the number of opened stores and continually rose till 2018, at roughly 5100 stores.
In terms of shops that are opening, throughout the period, the figures sharply went down which was over two times than that of in the beginning. Before recovering in 2014 to about over 6000 stores opened, it saw a steep decrease from approximately 8500 stores in 2011 to 4000 stores in 2012. From 2014 to the end of the course, there was a downward trend in this number and reached 3000 stores newly opened in 2018.
