Overall, the percentage of British people having the interest of foot, swim and rugby exhibited an upward trend over the 10-year period, whereas other sports exhibited a contrasting pattern. Moreover, the percentage of people loving going by foot was the highest all over the period.
In 1995, approximately 41% of British people loved jogging, while around 23% of people interested in swimming and playing rugby. Following 5 years, the figure for rugby and swim increased significantly to around 27% each, before dropping slightly to 25% in 2005. Meanwhile, those of jogging rose steadily, and hit the highest point at around 44% in 2005.
Regarding to other sports, the rate of people having interest of snooker reached at 30% in 1995. The figure for snooker decreased sharply to 21% over 5 years, before rising slightly to 23% in 2005. Meanwhile, around 27% of those loving tennis in 1995, before witnessing a significant decline to 23% in 2000 and maintained a marginal presence at the end of the period. Golf was the least popular sport which reached 15% of those loving this sport in 1995. The number of people playing golf declined slightly to 13% in 2000, before increasing to 14% in 2005.
