Overall, the highest protein and calorie intakes were recorded in North America and exceeded the ideal intake in both terms, whereas India had the lowest calorie and protein intakes.
Looking more closely at the average protein intake chart, 80 units of protein was absorbed on average in North America, including two-thirds of that was animal protein. Latin America ranked second with 45 units, including 32 units of animal protein and the rest for other proteins. Interestingly, average protein consumption in Africa was 31 units with the half for animal protein, higher 2 units than the figure for India.
Regarding average calorie intake, it is substantial that around 3500 calories was recorded in North America. Following that, average calorie intake in Latin America was near 3000, the ideal intake. The numbers of East Africa, India were 2500, 2000, respectively.
