some believe that money is the most important consideration when people choose a job
Do you agree or disagree with this idea?
I disagree to the statement that the most important criteria in choosing an occupation is money because there are other at least equally important factors that need considering.
Admittedly, there is a strong link between a person’s income with his or her level of life quality. This is apparently because their income bracket can determine what kind of services or conveniences they are able to access, directly affecting the degree of material satisfaction they experience. For instance, a person who deliberately strives for a well-paid job will be financially able to live in comfort - occupying a luxury apartment, wearing branded clothes or travelling in a sports car, while those following their labor of love in arts will likely experience economic struggles, especially in the early stage of their career path.
However, an overemphasis on the monetary aspect of a profession can result in disquiets and attendant health problems, and therefore money should not be the most dominant element in terms of career choice. In the real world, it is not a rarity to see that many people who feel demotivated to continue their jobs due to the absence of passion have to keep the jobs to meet their material needs. As a result, over long periods of time, they have suffered from different mental problems such as sleep disorders and self-doubt, deeply deteriorating their well-being. In contrast, people who can strike the balance between their job and their interest can enjoy immense fulfillment from their work, as witnessed by Nguyen Nhat Anh – a Vietnamese writer who quit his high-paying office job to pursue his genuine interest in literature with the result that he has won many literary accolades and also amassed enormous wealth.
in conclusion, while it is undeniable that money is one of the most important element helping a person sustain themselves, there are other equally vital factors, such as job satisfaction, which enable an individual to be immune to side effects of work pressure.
