The article states that there are three solutions to prevent the birds from getting injured by the glasses that used in the building as modern architecture, and it provides three reasons for support. However, the professor claims that none of the three solutions mentioned are effective in preventing the birds from getting injured, and he refutes each of the reasons in the passage.
First, the reading asserts that replacing the regular glass by the one-way glass which is transparent in one direction. The lecture counters this point by saying that it is not an effective way to prevent the birds from injury. In fact, the outside glasses reflect the things as a mirror which will be a bad thing likes a regular glass because of the bird cannot understand the reflection of the mirror, they recognize the sky and trees in the mirror as a real thing.
Second, the article points out that using a colorful design as a second solution by painting a colorful line like a stripe. The professor contradicts this idea by telling that it is still a problem by using this colorful design. Indeed, the birds will recognize just the colorful stripe and still consider the un-color glass as a hole. However, this solution will be effective only if we color a large part of the glass, and in this case, the room will be dark.
Third, the reading explains that using a magnetic field instrument in the building will help the birds to recognize the solid objects. However, the professor demonstrates that creation of the artificial magnetic field is not successful. In fact, the birds use the magnetic field only when they travel for a long distance such as when they are moving from the cold areas to warm one, but when the birds are flying in the city in a short distance, they do not use the magnetic field to recognize the solid objects. That's why using magnetic field would not be effective.
